On November 19, Doosan Enerbility made an announcement regarding the “DX Forum 2023,” which was hosted with the topic “The Future of AI-Evolving Industries.” After the DX Forum was introduced for the first time last year with the goal of exchanging digital trends across businesses and presenting real-world case studies, this was its second holding.
About 200 people attended the forum, which was held at the Bundang Doosan Tower. Among them were prominent figures from the power industry, including Yongjin Song, Chief Strategy Officer at Doosan Enerbility, Kyong-il Ohm, Executive Vice President of Engineering Safety Division at Korea Western Power (KOWEPO), and Seung-chul Lee, Executive Vice President of Quality and Technology Division at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP).
The event was organized into multiple sessions, each with a distinct theme. Examples of these sessions were The Present & Future of Industrial AI, The Future of Digital UX Shaped by Hyperscale AI, and Improvements in Industrial Competitiveness Via AI Evolution in 2024 (Doosan Enerbility case study). Subsequently, case studies demonstrating the diverse ways in which the solutions are used to industries were presented. Examples included the Hyperscale AI-based turbine diagnostics service and the advancement of digital detector technologies for industries.
“We presented our future service direction and showcased Doosan Enerbility’s digital solutions that have been used to increase the dependability and efficiency of industrial sites at this year’s forum,” Yongjin Song, CSO of Doosan Enerbility, said. “In order to establish the event as a practical and useful forum, we made extra efforts this time to share case studies about the application of Hyperscale AI and Generative AI technologies, both of which are hot topics these days, in the manufacturing and power generation sectors.”
The Data Analytics Team and Digital Solutions Team comprise the Digital Innovation organization, which Doosan Enerbility has been running since 2013. The company recently provided an AI optimization solution to a 1000MW power plant in Korea, allowing it to be connected to the control network and increasing the plant’s efficiency and reliability. Additionally, Doosan has been extending the scope of its digital solutions company by integrating its products—such as the prediction and diagnostics tool “PreVision”—into other industries, such as chemical plants.
